Applicants are responsible for supplying all requirements credentials.  Credentials must be official documents and not student copies.  Nondisclosure of an applicant's complete academic history will result in rejection of the application and/or immediate dismissal from the University.

Freshman applicants are individuals who already or or will graduate from secondary school (high school) and who wish to enroll at UNC Charlotte with the intention of earning a degree.

For Freshman Admission, the application includes:

  • A completed online Application for Undergraduate International Admission form.
  • Application fee of $65 (nonrefundable and nondeductible); the fee is required before the application will be processed, and the fee is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • Official secondary school (high school) transcripts/mark sheets, which list course work and grades of the four (4) years of high school education.  Courses in progress of the final year should be noted even if grades are not yet available.
  • Certified/true copy of your secondary school (high school) diploma (degree certification) if you have already earned your high school degree, unless your high school transcripts clearly indicate your graduation date.
  • A final transcript and certified copy of your diploma is required prior to enrollment at UNC Charlotte if you are still completing your high school education at the time of application to UNC Charlotte.
  • If you attended a high school outside the US, you must submit a Foreign Credential Evaluation of your academic transcripts and degree certificate; additionally, the Evaluation must include a cumulative Grade Point Average [GPA]. The Foreign Credential Evaluations must be performed by e-Val Reports (http://www.e-valreports.com).
  • Official TOEFL or  IELTS scores. International students completing their high school education in the U.S. may submit SAT scores instead. The scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to UNC Charlotte. UNC Charlotte's school code for the TOEFL is 5105, Undergraduate. Scores older than two (2) years will not be accepted.
  • International students who attended a US high school for at least two years and also graduated from a US high school must present acceptable SAT scores.  Visit www.collegeboard.com to register for the SAT and/or www.act.org to register for the ACT.  The writing section is required and official test score reports should be sent to UNC Charlotte directly from the testing agency.  The SAT code is 5105 and the ACT code is 3163.
  • A Statement of Financial Responsibility showing the applicant's financial resources while in the United States.

Transfer applicants are individuals who have completed some academic work at an accredited college or university after graduating from secondary school (high school) and who wish to transfer to UNC Charlotte, with the intention of earning a degree from UNC Charlotte.

For Transfer Admission, the application includes:

  • A completed online Application for Undergraduate International Admission form.
  • Application fee of $65 (nonrefundable and nondeductible); payment of the fee is required before the file will be processed, and it is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  • Official secondary school (high school) transcripts and a certified copy of your secondary school (high school) diploma (degree certification) unless your high school transcripts clearly indicate your graduation date.
  • Official transcripts from each university-level institution attended indicating all course work completed to date.
  • A final transcript and certified copy of your diploma if you are still completing a 2-year or 3-year degree program at the time of applying to UNC Charlotte as soon as it becomes available and prior to your enrollment at UNC Charlotte.
  • If you attended a high school and/or college/university outside the US, you must submit a Foreign Credential Evaluation of your academic transcripts and degree certificate; additionally, the Evaluation must include a cumulative Grade Point Average [GPA].
